Gabriela Alvarado, MD, MPH, MA, PhD Candidate, is an independent consultant who provides innovative, creative, and high-quality support to public health projects in Costa Rica and internationally. 

Her multi-disciplinary background in medicine, public health, anthropology, non-profit management, and policy analysis situate her in a unique position to understand multiple perspectives and engage effectively with different stakeholders. She has experience in Latin America, as well as in the US in both urban and rural settings.  Dr. Alvarado has worked as a primary care physician in rural Costa Rica, nonprofits in the US and Costa Rica, and State government in the US.
